This is designed as the counterpart to our Reteach Decision Assistant. The important distinction is that it shouldn’t simply identify “high students.” It should identify students who have demonstrated enough understanding of the current objective to benefit from greater complexity, transfer, creativity, or independence.
That makes it much more aligned with our Human-Centered AI Teaching Continuum and avoids turning extension into “more work.”
This AI tool is designed as the decision layer between assessment evidence and instruction. It explicitly distinguishes between “the student doesn’t understand the concept,” “the student understands but couldn’t access the task,” and “the student needs more practice.” That distinction is especially powerful for our SPED/ELL work.
This tool is not designed as a traditional “low/middle/high” grouping tool. That would undermine the philosophy we’ve been building.
